LakeTown Green Community / Council Initiative
After 5 months of discussions and planning with Council, on 19th March 2016 I organised a team of volunteers to begin the project of upgrading the fence of our lovely LakeTown Green. With a bit more work by Council and the volunteers we should have a lovely new picket fence with a mowing strip. Watch out for the notices on the gates when you can be of help! St Georges Market Shop
She has been the Convenor of the St George’s Church Market Shop Distribution Committee since 2005. In this role Ilse steers the distribution of funds to worthy community causes, e.g. Women’s Refuge, Hospital Chaplaincy North Shore, and North Shore Riding for the Disabled.
Hauraki Primary School
Regular sponsor and supporter of the iconic Hauraki School Fair, Hauraki Poetry competition and the Hauraki Bogan Bingo night.
Hauraki Community
In appreciation of the support she receives in her business from the local community, and as a local Hauraki girl herself since 1993 Ilse donated the new heritage style entrance gates at Lake Town Green, an Auckland City planned recreation area. In June 2014 she also donated seating for the newly opened park.
